Lured by faint light

Event Name: Lured by the faint light.
Goal of the event: Find a pair of dangerous Hollows and exterminate them.
Specific Users:No.
Location: Human World-Beijin,China.
Story: Soul Soiety received reports of a pair of dangerous Hollows that often prey on the humans of a small town.Out of all the soul reapers sent to kill them only three came back.One in a delusional state,mumbling something about "fairy lights" and "monstrous spiders".Another was unconscious and still remains in a coma like state despite 4th division's best efforts.The last man collapsed after getting his two comrades back and died shortly for unknown reasons,his only injury was a sallow cut on the cheek.A simple extermination has now become a serious issue.Any soul reapers sent on this assignment are urged to be extra cautious.

Soul Society,around 10 in the morning

Rereading through the mission assignment in his hands Loki's face lit up with a grim smile."Perfect.I'll get revenge for you Jin,I swear.And there's just the person to help me do it too." Strapping on his zanpaku-to he heads out and towards Altria's quarters,knocking on her door loudly.

Shiro is suddenly whipped into the air, "AHHHH!!! What in the?!?!?" he is upside down and stares at the long tentacle gripping his leg, he whips out his kunai and starts hacking at it. "Let... Go .... of... ME!!!" he slices into the tentacle and manages to break from it's grip.

With Shiro
As the tentacle falls to the ground there's a small hiss from the shadowy form.A strong wind blasts through the area suddenly,wiping away mist and more clearly revealing a hulking form of a Hollow.It hisses again and white mists starts pouring from it's body,quickly filling up the forest again.There's a low gurgling chuckle and suddenly four tentacles at once whip out at Shiro.

The wind from Shin's spell dispels the mist.A dark form can be barely seen moving quickly up in the trees above them.(Note:since it is night time,it's very hard to see much in the forest.)There's a low whistle and the forest starts to fill up with the white mist once again."Damn,what the heck is this stupid mist." Cursing,Loki raises Raijin again as more projectiles come flying at them from each direction.Realizing he'll be unable to parry them all he decides to try something else.Moving in front he raises both hands,"Bakudo #39-Enkosen!" Loki grins as the needles bounce of the appeared shield.There's suddenly a loud crack and his eyes widen as the shield collapses and the needles come flying straight at him."Uh oh.."

"Good idea,Shin." Looking up into the trees as the fog clears she can barely see something moving around."A Hollow?" As more fog appears at the sound of a whistle she notices the direction it's coming from."Guys,it's probably a Hollow making this fog.If we want a chance we need to find and get rid of it first!" Seeing the projectiles fired at them again she uses Tsukiyomi to repel them,her hand moving quickly in a blurry silver motion.Hearing Loki cast the spell she makes way towards him while repelling the needles.'I hope it'll hold.He's not that good with them..please hold..' At the sound of the loud crack she whips around to see his shield fall."No,Loki!" Muttering an oath she flash steps towards him and tackles him to the ground as most of the needles seem to fly by,three of them getting embedded in her back.

Closing his eyes tightly Loki let's out a surprised sound when instead of getting hit he gets tackled."Ooof..ow.??" Opening his eyes he looks up at Altria."Ah..t-thank you."

"Ugh..you..you fool!" Pulling up she whacks him on the head before sitting up.Wincing as the movement seems to cause pain she carefully reaches back and feels along her back.Grasping the needles one by one she pulls them out in a quick motion."Ngh.." Feeling a bit dizzy her breathing becomes labored.

Shiro is hit with the tentacles, and is sent flying. He lands a few feet in front of loki and Altria. "erg.." he staggers to his feet. "bastard..." he raises his reiatsu to a high level and rushes back at the hollow.

A silver wolf with purple eyes stares at Altria and loki then transforms into a girl wearing a shingami uniform. "....... long time no see...." (it's Uriko)

Noding to Uriko she gathers reiatsu around her left hand and presses it to the wound.'This is..some kind of poison?I..can't heal it..' Wincing,she places a hand on a tree as her vision swims.

Uriko pulls out a small bottle with a pale blue liquid in it, and hands it to Altria. "here.... it's a bit strong so one sip..... plus I think I made it a bit too sweet...... just a word in advance." looks over and notices loki. She blushes with shyness. Turns back to Altria, " ..... It won't heal the poison.... but it may slow it down a little."

With Shiro
Out of the mist obscuring the Hollow three tentacles whip out at Shiro again.

Rubs his head after being whacked but doesn't say anything seeing as he deserved it."Altria,you got hit!I'm sorry.." Getting up he looks curiously at Uriko."Oh,hello there.I'm Loki." Turning to Altria he looks her over worriedly.She doesn't look good and it's my fault. A high pitched chuckle sounds through the air. "Heh heh heh,foolish soul reaper.Rather then protecting you should have worried about yourself.Now,I'll have a lot of fun watching you die a slow,painful death as my poison spreads through your system.Just like the rest of those weakling soul reapers.One of us has the cure but you have no chance of getting it,keh he he." The shadowy form moves quickly through the branches,disappearing deeper into the mist covered forest.Cursing,Loki clenches his hands."Bastards!" Getting a determined look he pulls down his goggles,putting them on."I'll go after that monkey thing,with these I'll be able to see even in those conditions.You guys help Shiro-kun.Altria-chan,hold on." Taking out Raijin he races deeper into the forest after the Hollow,the yellow blade glowing slightly and providing light,going to the left of Shiro.

Taking the bottle she drinks one sip,a sweet taste lingering in her mouth.Closing the bottle she hands it back to Uriko."Thank you.As always,your medicine is amazing." Smiling weakly she closes her eyes as the feeling of dizziness recedes somewhat.As the hiding Hollow utters those mocking words before running off she holds back an angry retort,concentrating instead on standing up. "Loki,please be careful,don't do anything reckless.I'll catch up." Managing after a moment she unsheathes Tsukiyomi and heads towards Shiro.

Shin, with everyone else. He's getting pissed with the projectiles.

"I never tried this one before, and this is so far the highest level of kido I know..."

"Bakudo # 73 - Tozansho"

Arrows appeared and formed an inverted pyramid barrier with them inside. Shin focused his reiatsu to make the barrier firmed and strong.

As Loki races after the chuckling Hollow through the mist the projectiles stop coming at the others.

Shiro jumps up into the air and lands on the Hollows back, he whips out his kunai and hacks away at it's tentacles. Unaware of a stray tentacle behind him, Shiro is knocked into the air,something sharp rips through his side. "Uhg! Damn it!" He plummets to the ground and lands awkwardly.He staggers to his feet and winces, blood pours from the deep gash in his side. ".......... Grr......... that bastard....." Looking up at the Hollow, Shiro points his kunai at it and shouts, "Show 'em real fire... FENIKKUSU!!" there's a bright flash, the kunai transforms into a long black katana with a dragon skull guard. Two black and blue fireballs swirl around the tip and center of the blade. "Rrg..... now you've asked for it......" He raises his blade, " Quick beat, Hanshou!" (lit. Fire bell) He brings the sword down in a quick graceful motion, sending the two swirling fireballs spiraling towards the Hollow. The fireballs become two spiraling fire snakes as the fly towards the hollow.

Shin casts out the kido since the projectiles are gone. Shin then shunpos to the battlefield and draws his zanpakuto. Arriving when Shiro attacks the hollow, Shin puts himself on guard.

With Shiro and others
Seeing the attack many tentacles shoot out from the Hollows form,wrapping around the trees.With a tearing sound it uproots them and brings in front of itself to be used as shields.The snakes hit,there's smell of charred wood and flesh.The mist clears a little to show the Hollow still standing.Half of its body has been burned away,there are many burned patched at what's left.It let's out a gurgling roar.Charred tentacles whip out and wrap around Shin,Shiro,Uriko and Altria.They start to squeeze.

Stopping to catch his breath Loki looks back at the massive explosion of reiatsu."?? They must be fighting.Stay safe guys." Glimpsing the Hollow up ahead he starts shunpo-ing again.

Arriving near the Hollow just in time to see Shiro attack him she raises a hand to shield her eyes.'So,that's his shikai power?Fire huh,so some things didn't change.' As the mist clears she's surprised to see the Hollow still alive even with all the horrible wounds and gets caught off guard when it whips out a tentacle."Ah!" As it wraps around her and starts squeezing she struggles to breath,trying to free her hands.Raising her reiatsu she gasps in surprise when a burning trail of pain shoots along her back.'Ugh..this is..the poison?Is it reacting to my spirit energy?D-drat it..'

Shin is being squeezed tight by the tentacle..

"Shoot...it won't let go."


Shin calms himself down and focused on his reiatsu.

"Jinsoku! Kaze no Tsume! - Kamaitachi! (wind cutter)"

The tentacle that is wrapping Shin up has been cut into pieces. Also, some wind blades swiftly cuts all the tentacles that's wrapping everyone. Just by then, because of the wind, the mist is completely gone. Shin lands with claw gauntlets equipped on each of his hands.

"I never thought I'll use it here."

As the wind slices the tentacle holding her she manages to flip in the air and land a bit wobbly."Thanks a lot Shin.You're a life saver." As more of them seem to appear she ducks and cuts through a few with her zanpakuto. 'Ngh..drat..I'm..getting weaker here.' As her breathing becomes more labored she doesn't notice another one sneaking up behind her.

Noticing Altria's situation, Shin quickly shunpos beside her. Quickly he holds her hand then shunpos again creating distance from the enemy.

"Altria, what's with you...did you get hit or something?"

Shiro breaks lose from the tentacle and then appears and slashes the tentacle in two and catches up to Shin and Altria. " Altria-san! You should pull back! you can't fall here!" (he sounds more and more like his old self)

"Thanks." She looks away,"Yeah,Loki was going to get hit with those needles..and I kind of tackled him.Maybe using a kidou would have been smarter but I just..panicked.Three of them hit me and apparently they were poisonous. Uriko gave me something to slow it down but..the Hollow said only one of them has an antidote." She shakes her head to clear away dancing spots. "Anyway,I'm fine.Let's go back and finish that thing off.." Turning to looks at Shiro she whacks him on the head lightly."I told you to stop calling me -san!" There's an angry glint in her eye.

"Yes,let's go.I'll make an opening with those tentacles and you guys finish it off." Turning around she flash steps back towards the Hollow.'It seems using spirit energy makes it worse..so I shouldn't use shikai.Maybe lower level kidou would be alright..' Seeing the tentacles she waits until they are all streaming in her direction before gathering reiatsu into her left hand and pointing it at them."Disintegrate, you black dog of
Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own
throat!Bakudo #9-Geki." A red light engulfs them and they freeze paralyzed.At the pull of her spirit energy pain once again fires across her back,reaching shoulders this time.Wincing she bites her lower lip but continues on anyway.

With Loki
Catching up to the Hollow finally Loki tried casting a binding kido on it but the thing moves too fast.It chuckles and fires a round of projectiles at him.Using shunpo he avoids them and jumping up tries to strike the Hollow.The thing smacks him back with a long tail and he crashes painfully into a tree.Damn,it's so fast.Where are they,why is it taking so long to kill one Hollow when there are four of them there,two with shikai.Grr..hold on Altria-chan.
